Iconic rapper Snoop Dogg has performed at an inauguration pre-party in honor of President-elect Donald Trump.
The inaugural “Crypto Ball,” hosted by AI and Crypto Czar David Sacks, was held in DC on Friday evening.

Trump and the famed stoner have a long history—he appeared on The Apprentice in 2007—but they had a falling out when Trump announced his presidential campaign in 2016.
The rapper made a song parodying and mocking MAGA in 2017 but changed his tune and began supporting Trump in January 2024.
“Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me,” Snoop the U.K.’s The Sunday Times at the time. “He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris.”
Harris co-founded Snoop Dogg’s first record label, Death Row, and was in prison on drug charges.
The Root, an outlet catering to black Americans, blasted Snoop Dogg for his decision to perform at the ball and called for him to be fully canceled.

She was essentially cancelled, and her career has never really recovered. Remember when people took to social media to ridicule Kanye West when he showed up at the White House to meet with Donald Trump wearing a cheaply made “Make America Great Again” red hat? Kanye never recovered from that meeting.
What Snoop Dogg is doing should carry the same penalty as Michele and West. It does not matter that he is clever when he is on television during the Olympics. It should not matter that he has a wonderful rapport with Martha Stewart.
Snoop is unquestionably selling out the Black community by performing at the Crypto Ball. One hopes the check he gets is worth the price of his soul.
