Fake news CNN’s veteran international anchor Christiane Amanpour has once again proven why the fake news network is nothing more than a mouthpiece for radical Islamist terrorists.
The long-time CNN anchor made the shocking claim during a Monday broadcast, where she implied that hostages, many of whom were starved, tortured, and sexually abused, somehow received “better” treatment simply because Hamas saw them as “valuable leverage.”
“I pretty much can assure you that one, that once those doors are opened, it will be a scene of absolute, abject horror,” Amanpour said.
“And I think for sure, people who start to talk to the hostages who have only just been released, will find that it will take a long, long time for them to recover physically, but also mentally.”
“It’s been a terrible, terrible two years for them, because not only are they there — you know, they’re probably being treated better than the average Gazan, because they are the pawns and the chips that Hamas had,” she added.
“Now, Hamas has given up all of its leverage, by the way, by giving them all up. So that is a victory for the Israeli side. But they will have had so much horror and terror as well, because they were also in the war zone, many of them underground, we understand.”

Israel’s Foreign Ministry didn’t hold back, blasting Amanpour on X: “. @amanpour what on earth are you talking about?? The hostages were starved, tortured, and subjected to sexual violence. Your words are Hamas propaganda on steroids.”

One user posted an image of Evyatar David, a former hostage, emaciated and digging his own grave under Hamas orders, writing:

Breitbart’s Joel Pollak piled on, exposing the rot at CNN’s core: “@amanpour knows the hostages did not receive the aid Israel allowed into Gaza or medicines that were specifically sent to them. This is either just a brain malfunction or something much more disturbing.”

Special Presidential Envoy for Special Missions of United States Richard Grenell also called out Amanpour’s remarks:
. @CNN’s @amanpour just said that the Israeli hostages were treated better than other people.
She’s literally pro-Hamas.
You can feel how mad she is with the release of hostages by Trump.
And she says “The Abraham Accords aren’t peace deals”.
She’s a sick woman.

Following the intense backlash, the anchor quickly walked back her remarks and issued an apology:
“Earlier live on air, I spoke about what a day of real joy this is, for Israeli families whose loved ones are finally being returned from two years of horrific Hamas captivity, and for civilians in Gaza, who have finally had a reprieve from two years of brutal, deadly war.
I noted that for the hostages who are finally home, it will take a long time for them to recover mentally and physically.
But I regret also saying that they may have been treated better than many Gazans because Hamas used these hostages as pawns and bargaining chips.
It was insensitive and wrong.
From speaking to many former hostages and their families, like everyone I’ve been horrified at what Hamas has subjected them to over two long years.
They’ve told me their stories of barely being able to breathe in the tunnels, not being allowed to cry, being starved and made to dig their own graves – and of course today, some of the hostages are coming back in body bags.”
