The Department of Homeland Security is now conducting door-to-door audits of Somali-linked daycare centers and related social-service operations in Minneapolis, as part of a sweeping enforcement surge targeting fraud, illegal employment, and human trafficking tied to sanctuary-state policies.
Happening now: @DHSgov @Sec_Noem arrives to the federal building here in Minneapolis as immigration enforcement operations ramp up in the area.

On-the-ground reporting from Fox News’ Alexis McAdams captured the scope of the operation in real time.
“They say they see these daycare centers, adult daycare centers, autism centers, home health care centers all over the place,” McAdams reported.
“That’s why DHS has to be here—to knock on these doors and say, ‘You received this much money. What did you do with it?’”

According to federal officials, the audits are part of a 30-day DHS surge in Minneapolis, involving hundreds and potentially thousands of agents focused on suspected large-scale welfare fraud, illegal hiring, and transnational criminal activity.
The Gateway Pundit previously reported that the surge could involve nearly 2,000 federal agents and officers, drawn primarily from Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations and Homeland Security Investigations divisions.
HSI agents are expected to expand on inspections conducted last month, while additional coordination is anticipated from U.S. Customs and Border Protection leadership.
Commander Gregory Bovino, who previously oversaw controversial enforcement operations in Los Angeles, Chicago, Charlotte, and New Orleans, is expected to arrive in Minnesota to assist with coordination.
Officials cautioned that the numbers could grow further, with as many as 600 HSI agents and up to 1,500 ICE officers rotating through the region over the course of the month.
Speaking on Newsmax, ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons made clear this is the largest enforcement effort of its kind.
ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons:
“We have the largest immigration operation ever taking place right now. It’s a great effort by ICE. Both of our components—Enforcement and Removal Operations and Homeland Security Investigations—are on the ground.
HSI agents, as you’ve seen in the media, have been going door to door to many of these suspected companies that are not only hiring illegal aliens who shouldn’t even be in the country, but are also potentially involved in human smuggling and human trafficking cases, as well as fraud cases.
One thing we should really know, too, is that states like Minnesota, which have strong sanctuary city policies and sanctuary protections, do attract illegal aliens to come there to take advantage of welfare, public assistance, and SNAP benefits.
That becomes a magnet that brings a criminal element that can hide in plain sight. That’s what we’re finding up in Minnesota.
I’m very proud to say that the Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, was up there today. She ran an awesome, successful operation and apprehended a suspected murderer and a wanted rapist who were hiding, again, in plain sight in Minneapolis. That’s what ICE agents are doing on the ground up there.
They’re up there taking the fight to these sanctuary jurisdictions that allow these criminal illegal aliens to roam the streets and take advantage of public assistance that should be there for every taxpaying American.”
