While violence in Oregon’s urban centers continues to harm Americans, the state’s far-left Governor, Tina Kotek (D), is more concerned with the care and safety of Tren de Aragua gangbangers.
On Thursday, The Gateway Pundit reported that federal agents shot two people in Portland, Oregon, after the driver attempted to drive over Border Patrol agents.
Following the incident, DHS noted that the driver and passenger are affiliated with the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.
In a statement to Fox News, DHS shared:
“At 2:19 PST, US Border Patrol agents were conducting a targeted vehicle stop in Portland, Oregon. The passenger of the vehicle and target is a Venezuelan illegal alien affiliated with the transnational Tren de Aragua prostitution ring and involved in a recent shooting in Portland. The vehicle driver is believed to be a member of the vicious Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. When agents identified themselves to the vehicle occupants, the driver weaponized his vehicle and attempted to run over the law enforcement agents.
“Fearing for his life and safety, an agent fired a defensive shot. The driver drove off with the passenger, fleeing the scene. This situation is evolving, and more information is forthcoming.”
Despite the early identification of the two as gang-connected, the left, including their controlled PR wing in the legacy media, has framed the pair as an innocent “married couple.”
Kotek said, in a press conference following the incident, that she is “shaken and outraged” by the shooting.
It isn’t the daily murders, rapes, violent assaults, or harm to children that have “shaken” Kotek and the Oregon leaders who joined her at the press conference. No, it was shooting gangbangers connected to a gang
“We are standing here today united, as a state, wanting peace and safety in our communities.”
“We are all shaken and outraged by another terrible, unnecessary, violent event instigated by the reckless agenda of the Trump administration,” Kotek told reporters.
“This time in our own state, in our largest city, coming just one day after the tragedy in Minnesota.”

In January 2025, President Trump signed Executive Order 14157, “Designating Cartels And Other Organizations As Foreign Terrorist Organizations And Specially Designated Global Terrorists.” The Executive Order also designates “other transnational organizations, such as Tren de Aragua.”
