A social media influencer and former oil change worker has gone viral online for reasons seemingly beyond his control.
As WBRZ reported, a 27-year-old man named Dejontay Wings, who formerly worked at Take 5 Oil Change in Baton Rouge, was arrested Saturday after police said he broke into the Airline Highway business and stole $200 from the safe. He has been charged with simple burglary and criminal property damage.
According to a Baton Rouge police warrant obtained by WBRZ, Wings busted a window in the garage at the place of business, searched the office to locate the safe, and stole cash from the safe just before 11:00 p.m. local time on Dec. 2, 2025.
Police allege that the security camera malfunctioned during the theft and did not capture Wings’ face. The auto shop manager, though, helped them solve the case.
He said he recognized Wings by his ‘distinctive walk’ and noted the young man had been terminated two weeks before the burglary.
But Wings is not garnering national attention for his petty crime, the type that happens every day. Rather, people have gone wild over not only his unique name but also his appearance.

WBRZ also notes Wings is a social media comedian with nearly 300k Instagram followers.
The Internet went wild upon seeing the mugshot and learning Wings’ name. One person even compared him to WNBA player Angel Reese.
Some also speculated that the reason Wings looked this way was due to fetal alcohol syndrome, an absolutely horrible condition.
