The ‘phantom drones’ are now in France.
The drone epidemic in Europe: real or a psyop?
While there’s no attempt on our part to suggest that the Russians are above using such ‘hybrid’ tactics (actually, no great power is above it), there’s the fact that a growing number of these episodes seem completely fabricated and there’s never compelling evidence.
This time, several drones have been reported to hover above the submarine base of Île Longue (Finistère), house of the French nuclear ballistic missile submarines.
French troops reportedly opened fire on the detected drones, and a judicial investigation will be opened by the military prosecutor’s office of Rennes.
Le Monde reported (translated from the French):
“’Sensitive infrastructure was not threatened’ by this overflight, however, Commander Guillaume Le Rasle, spokesman for the maritime prefecture, told Agence France-Presse (AFP).”
Five drones were detected yesterday (4) evening, after which the Marine Battalion carried out several anti-drone strikes.
The French Navy confirmed that air defence units were activated last night at around 7:30 PM after five unidentified drones entered restricted airspace over the île Longue nuclear submarine base.

“On Friday evening, the Rennes prosecutor’s office told AFP that no drone had been shot down and that no pilot had been identified. ‘No link with foreign interference is therefore made’, added the public prosecutor Frédéric Teillet, specifying that the marines had ‘fired a jammer and not a firearm’ against the drones.
“’It is too early to characterize’ the origin of the drones, [Commander] Le Rasle said. However, he considered that these flights over the submarine base of Long Island were ‘intended to worry the population’.”
