A storm of scandal has erupted at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center (Mountain Home, TN), exposing shocking allegations of widespread sexual misconduct among employees, including lurid claims of an orgy involving 12 officials and one individual engaging in sexual relationships with 32 different coworkers.
Multiple high-ranking officials have resigned as a result of an internal investigation that has now caught the attention of congressional investigators.
Breitbart News first broke the story, exposing that a male biomedical employee reportedly engaged in sexual relations with at least 32 coworkers.
The investigation reveals that this employee at the facility boasted about his numerous sexual encounters on a government communication portal, which is intended for discussions about veteran healthcare and facility operations.
Congressional sources also uncovered evidence of an alleged orgy involving at least 12 officials tied to the facility, with some participants admitting to engaging in sexual activity on hospital grounds.
“The fact that the culture would even allow this to happen in the first place is absolutely wild, and it all starts at the top,” a senior congressional aide told Breitbart.
The investigation into the Mountain Home VA scandal began over the summer, when the House Committee on Veterans Affairs, led by Chairman Rep. Michael Bost (R-IL), initiated inquiries into the troubling allegations.
“The sexual misconduct, harassment, and inappropriate interpersonal relationships that were allowed to persist at the Mountain Home VA facility are disturbing and disgusting,” Bost said in a statement on Wednesday per Fox News.
“If these allegations are verified, without question, these men and women have no business serving veterans in East Tennessee, and this should have never happened.”
Bost continued, “As we continue to get more information from the Department on why this behavior was allowed, who committed these actions, whether those involved are still collecting a taxpayer-funded paycheck from VA, and who is ultimately responsible, I will continue to fight tooth and nail to urge the Biden administration to hold everyone involved accountable.”
Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) has also voiced her outrage.
“The allegations of sexual harassment and sexual assault at the VA Medical Center in Mountain Home are serious and disgusting, and American taxpayers deserve thorough and immediate answers from the Inspector General’s ongoing investigation,” Blackburn said at the time, according to Breitbart.
“This is not the first time the VA has been the subject of scandal under the Biden-Harris administration, and any responsible parties must be held accountable.”
In a statement to Fox News, the VA emphasized its “zero tolerance” policy for sexual misconduct, confirming that all employees implicated in wrongdoing are no longer with the department.
“As soon as allegations of misconduct at this facility were uncovered, VA reported the matter to the proper authorities, began our own investigation, and informed Congress,” a VA spokesperson said.
“We continue to fully cooperate with all proper authorities in this matter, and we hold our employees accountable to the highest standards of care and respect. Whenever employees fail to live up to those standards, we take immediate action – as we have done in this case.”
However, the committee refuted this claim, stating that they believe senior leadership at Mountain Home, who were aware of the “sexually explicit activity,” remain employed by the VA.
