The ‘mean tweets’ are back!
After winning the US Presidential election in a landslide, President-elect Donald J. Trump sent severe warnings – mixed with some funny trolling – to Mexico and Canada over border security.
Now, it appears like the Northern neighbors are acting to escape the threat of tariffs that is looming.
Trump wrote that if they did not stop the flow of illegal drugs and illegal immigrants across the United States’s northern and southern borders, he would impose a massive 25% tariff on all imports into the U.S.
Washington Examiner reported:
“’I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% Tariff on ALL products coming into the United States, and its ridiculous Open Borders. This Tariff will remain in effect until such time as Drugs, in particular, Fentanyl, and all Illegal Aliens stop this Invasion of our Country! Both Mexico and Canada have the absolute right and power to easily solve this long simmering problem. We hereby demand that they use this power, and until such time that they do, it is time for them to pay a very big price!’ Trump posted on Truth Social last month.”
Now, the Canadian government is reportedly working on a plan to increase its border security.
Globalist poster boy, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, said plans were being worked out.
“Officials are considering using drones, dog units, technological advancements to curb the flow of illegal drugs, and databases, among other proposals. The cost of the measures is expected to be released Monday, according to the report, and the plan is expected to be presented to the incoming Trump administration prior to the president-elect’s inauguration next month.”
Trudeau made the pilgrimage to Mar-a-Lago to kiss the ring shortly after the initial tariff threat by the president-elect.
The meeting was called ‘very productive’ by Trump and an ‘excellent conversation’ by Trudeau.
“Earlier this month, after the Trump-Trudeau meeting, Canadian Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc told Canadian news outlet CBC News about the importance of border security between the U.S. and Canada to be improved in a ‘visible and muscular way’.
Since making the initial threat of tariffs against Canada, Trump has joked about the country being the 51st U.S. state and calling Trudeau the governor ‘of the Great State of Canada’.”
Following that, Trudeau criticized the U.S. for not choosing Kamala Harris as its first female president last month after also previously rejecting Hillary Clinton in 2016.
That led to tech billionaire – and DOGE director – Elon Musk calling Trudeau an ‘insufferable tool.’
Daily Mail reported:
“The relationship between the liberal Trudeau and conservative Trump has been a source of fascination in recent weeks, with the pair having an apparently friendly Mar-a-Lago meeting followed by Trump’s continued joking that Canada should become the 51st state.”
But Trudeau and Musk have had a much more tense relationship ever since the PM went full dictator against the Freedom Convoy in 2022.
“Trudeau again sparked Musk’s ire on Wednesday when an anti-Trump speech of his went viral.
‘We were supposed to be on a steady, if difficult sometimes, march towards progress. And yet, just a few weeks ago, the United States voted for a second time to not elect its first woman president,’ Trudeau said in Ottawa on Tuesday.“
Musk gave a brutal response and review of Trudeau’s future.
“’He’s such an insufferable tool. Won’t be in power for much longer,’ Musk said.”
He’s such an insufferable tool.
Won’t be in power for much longer.
